of Activities of the Commissioner for Information of Public Importance
and Personal Data Protection in March 2017
I. Case Statistics
In March 2017, the Commissioner’s Office received a total of 1016 cases, including:
· 454 cases in connection with freedom of information,
· 472 cases in connection with personal data protection,
· 90 cases relating to both spheres of competence and operations of the Commissioner’s Office.
A total of 4078 pending cases were carried forward from the previous period (3537 – freedom of information, 495 – data protection, 46 – other cases, so a total of 5.031 cases were handled during the month).
A total of 1012 cases were resolved during this month (432 - freedom of information, 490 – data protection, 90 – harmonisation of the law and regulations)
There are 4082 cases pending (3559 – freedom of information, 477 – data protection and 46 - harmonisation of the law and regulations)
According to the available call records, 1723 contacts with citizens and public authorities were made to provide advice on the exercise of freedom of information and with citizens and personal data controllers for consultations in connection with implementation of the Law on Personal Data Protection and cases handled.
