Slavoljupka Pavlović, Assistant Secretary General in the Commissioner’s Office - Sector for Appeals and Enforcement - Access to Information, held a training in Novi Sad yesterday in the field of free access to information of public importance for employees of the provincial administration, organized by the Human Resources Management Services of the Provincial Government of the Autonomous Province of Vojvodina. The training was attended by persons authorized to act upon requests for access to information of public importance, as well as persons responsible for the development and updating of the Information Booklet on work of the provincial public authorities.

The training especially pointed out the most common mistakes of bodies in dealing with requests for free access to information of public importance, as well as the novelties provided by the Draft Law on Amendments to the Law on Free Access to Information of Public Importance, which is currently in the parliamentary procedure. Special attention is paid to the conditions for restricting the right to access information due to the violation of the right to privacy and protection of personal data, presenting the most characteristic examples from the practice of the Commissioner. The seminar participants assessed this part of the training as exceptionally important and useful.
