Rodoljub Sabic, Commissioner for Information of Public Importance and Personal Data Protection, said in connection with today’s voting on the Amending Bill to the Law on Free Access to Information that it would be a shame if deputies missed the opportunity to enable Serbia to take a huge step towards establishing a very important corruption mechanism by adopting the amendment providing for insider protection, which the Ombudsman submitted to that end.
In connection with that, Commissioner Rodoljub Sabic also said the following:
Rodoljub Sabic, Commissioner for Information of Public Importance and Personal Data Protection, reminded in connection with the World Anti Corruption Day, 9 December, that Serbia needs to faster achieve much better results in the fight against corruption. This calls for more vigorous taking of all available measures among which public control of operations of the Government and public authorities must not be avoided.
In connection with the International Day of Disabled Persons, 3 December, the Commissioner for Information of Public Importance and Personal Data Protection reminded that the state has the duty to provide to all citizens conditions for unhindered and proper exercise of the rights enshrined in the Constitution and the law. The Commissioner reminded that disabled persons, i.e. persons with special needs, also have the need and the right to participate in social life and contribute to its quality and that all levels of the Government must provide assumptions for that.
