The Commissioner for Information of Public Importance and Personal Data Protection,  Rodoljub Sabic, talked today with Lisa Soto, one of the most renowned American and global Lawyers specializing in the field of Protecting Data Privacy and Safety, and the Chair Lady of the Advisory Committee for Integrity and Protection of Data Privacy in the USA Homeland Security Department.

Visit of the American Expert has been implemented by the Commissioner in cooperation and with USAID assistance, in order to secure the necessary continuous and quality education of our staff about many open data protection issues. Evaluating the visit and the engagement of Lisa Soto as very useful, especially her participation in the work of adequate seminar for education of staff from those authorities in our country in the activities of which personal data protection has special importance, the Commissioner Rodoljub Sabic also stated as follows:

The Commissioner for Information of Public Importance and Personal Data Protection, Rodoljub Sabic and Ombudsman Sasa Jankovic have held today in Belgrade, in Media Center, a Press Conference on the topic „Supervising Law on Personal Data Protection's Implementation with Telephony Operators in Serbia - Constitutional Guarantees of Secrecy of Means of Communication ".

The Commissioner for Information of Public Importance and Personal Data Protection, Rodoljub Sabic has met today with Michael Davenport, Ambassador of United Kingdom in Belgrade and talked with him about the cooperation so far and in the future.

Evaluating support of the Embassy of Great Britain to the Commissioner's institution as very important and friendly, the Commissioner stressed that today's meeting, one in a series of friendly contacts, had for its direct motive start of implementation of one really interesting project - compilation of the model Law on Protecting Whistleblowers  (insiders, whistleblowers).

In relation to that, the Commissioner Rodoljub Sabic also stated as follows:

On the occasion of the 15th anniversary of the Judges' Association of Serbia and the 10th anniversary of the Association of Public Prosecutors and Deputy Public Prosecutors of Serbia, these associations awarded on Mr. Rodoljub Sabic, Commissioner for Information of Public Importance and Personal Data Protection, a letter of thanks for special contribution in affirmation and protection of the rule of law, freedom and democracy.

The award was presented to Mr. Rodoljub Sabic on 29 June 2012 by Ms Dragana Boljevic, President of the Judges' Association of Serbia, and Dr. Goran Ilic, President of the Association of Public Prosecutors and Deputy Public Prosecutors of Serbia.
