Мeeting Held with Minister of Public Administration and Local Self-Government

Commissioner Milan Marinović met today with the Minister of Public Administration and Local Self-Government Dr. Aleksandar Martinović. They discussed the application of the amended Law on Free Access to Information of Public Importance and ways to solve the problems observed in the application of that law.

Commissioner on Study Visit to Brussels

Commissioner Milan Marinović and Deputy Commissioner Sanja Unković, Acting Assistant Secretary-General of the Sector for Harmonization of Regulations and Normative Affairs Lela Rudić, and Acting Chief of Cabinet Dragoslav Đukić were on a study visit to the EU institutions in Brussels, Belgium on March 7, 8 and 9, 2023. During the study visit, they held meetings with the European Data Protection Supervisor Mr. Wojciech Wiewiórowski, representatives of the Directorate-General of the European Commission for Justice and Consumers (DG JUST), and representatives of the European Parliament. In a constructive dialogue, the Commissioner exchanged views and experiences with the officials of the European Union regarding the processing of biometric personal data, video surveillance, and artificial intelligence. The meetings held represent a significant basis for building better cooperation with the said European institutions in the field of personal data protection.

Lecture on Organization and Work of Commissioner's Office

On February 28, 2023, the Office of the Commissioner for Information of Public Importance and Personal Data Protection held a lecture on the organization and work of the Commissioner's Office to participants of the short study program "Legal Data Protection and Access to Information" at the Faculty of Law in Kragujevac. This lecture aimed to familiarize the participants of the short study program with the organizational structure of the Commissioner, his competencies, regulations, and practice.

The lecture was held by accredited lecturers from the Commissioner's Office, Marin Cetinić and Aleksandra Lakićević.

Corvus Pay d.o.o. designates representative for Republic of Serbia in accordance with Personal Data Protection Law

On February 20, 2023, the Commissioner for Information of Public Importance and Personal Data Protection received a written decision of Corvus Pay d.o.o., based in Zagreb, Croatia, in which this company designates its representative for the Republic of Serbia, in accordance with the Law on Personal Data Protection.

The representative of this company for the Republic of Serbia is the legal advisor Nataša Pepić, based in Belgrade, Viline Vode bb.

In accordance with the law, the Commissioner or another person may address this representative, besides/instead of this company, regarding all issues related to the processing of personal data, in order to ensure compliance with the provisions of this law.

Once again, the Commissioner appeals to other foreign companies that have the obligation to designate their representative in the Republic of Serbia, compliant with the Law on Personal Data Protection, to fulfill the same obligation and thus show awareness of the obligation to respect the rule of law and privacy of their users.
