A delegation of eight representatives of the Personal Data Protection Agency of the Republic of Montenegro visited the Commissioner for Information of Public Importance and Personal Data Protection on 17 and 18 December 2025. The visit aimed to familiarize themselves with the organization of work and practice of the Commissioner in the field of personal data protection, and the functioning of the Sector for Information Technology.
Special attention was paid to the innovations in the Commissioner's practice after the adoption of the Law on Personal Data Protection, which is fully harmonized with European regulations. That was of particular importance for colleagues from Montenegro, given that such a law is expected to be adopted.
Most of the discussions focused on the conduct of personal data processing supervision inspection, handling of complaints, and the Commissioner’s work on the harmonization of regulations with the Law on Personal Data Protection.
According to the joint assessment, this visit was extremely beneficial for both parties, concluding that this type of cooperation should continue in the future.
