Commissioner Milan Marinović and Deputy Commissioner Sanja Unković participated in the regular annual meeting of the “Initiative 20i7”, which brings together representatives of personal data protection supervisory authorities from the countries of the former Yugoslavia, held this year on 18 and 19 May 2026 in Bitola, North Macedonia.
The main focus of the meeting was on how personal data protection authorities, members of the Initiative, are coping with numerous challenges in personal data protection today. The Commissioner and Deputy Commissioner presented the process of adopting the new Personal Data Protection Law in the Republic of Serbia, with a special focus on the most significant amendments.
In addition to the main meeting, a series of bilateral meetings was held between the members of the Initiative.
It was decided that the host of next year's Initiative will be the Personal Data Protection Agency in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
