Housing and Residential Buildings Maintenance Bill is under the procedure in front of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia. Regarding the solutions contained in this Bill, its effects and scope, the public is informed in expressly positive, affirmative way. However, the Commissioner for Information of Public Importance and Personal Data Protection evaluates that the public is not informed enough regarding potentially negative effects this Law might have on personal privacy, i.e. personal data protection.

The Commissioner for Information of Public Importance and Personal Data Protection evaluates as very positive information about the Directorate for Electronic Government undertaking measures for safer communicaton that the citizens exercise through E-government portal, and that within that effort, new SSL certificate has been acquired, which is undergoing tests and which shall in due time become functional. The Commissioner evaluates this as good and relatively quick reaction regarding the warning sent in the beginning of November in Letters to the Ministers in charge of State Administration and Local Self Government, and Trade, Tourism and Telecommunications, showing that according to the results of world renowned authority on-line test of famous informatics security provider "Qualys SSL Labs" from USA, they have been evaluated due to their "vulnerability" (outdated and poor algorhythms and protocols) with the worst mark (F).

The Commissioner for Information of Public Importance and Personal Data Protection has initiated the surveillance procedure over the implementation of the Personal Data Protection Act in the Republic Healhtcare Insurance Fund (RHIF).

The immediate cause for the institution of proceedings was the emergence of personal data of a minor Fund insuree and her Legal Representative in the public, first on Twitter social network, posted by M. Rističević, member of the RHIF Managing Board, and then in the debate of political opponents in the National Assembly, and thereafter they have been disclosed to the broadest general public.

The Commissioner for Information of Public Importance and Personal Data Protection has received a letter from the Ministry of Labor, Veteran and Social Issues, by which the Ministry informs him that the Republic Pension and Disability Insurance Fund has acted according to the Commissioner’s warning and changed procedures regarding personal data processing.
