Заштитник грађана Саша Јанковић, директорка Агенције за борбу против корупције Татјана Бабић и повереник за информације од јавног значаја и заштиту података о личности Родољуб Шабић затражили су данас хитан састанак са министром правде и државне управе, Николом Селаковићем, поводом чињенице да је Управа за извршење кривичних санкција Министарства правде и државне управе, Казнено - поправни завод у Нишу покренула дисциплински поступак и суспендовала своју радницу Валентину Крстић, која је од Агенције за борбу против корупције претходно добила статус заштићеног узбуњивача, јер је указала на одређене неправилности у раду Завода.

The Commissioner for Information of Public Importance and Personal Data Protection condemned the fact that the Nis Correctional Facility which employs  Valentina Krstic, who received whistleblower status from the Anti-Corruption Agency, initiated disciplinary proceedings against her and suspended her from work despite being informed about her status.

By suspending the employee from work, the employee's rights and the relevant provisions of the Law on Anti-Corrupton Agency and the Rulebook on the Protection of Whistleblowers are violated, undermining the authority and the role of the Anti-Corruption Agency. Most importantly, all others who would want to report cases of corruption in their surroundings are demotivated.

In relation to the aforementioned, the Commissioner Rodoljub Sabic also stated the following:

Commissioner for Information of Public Importance and Personal Data Protection Rodoljub Šabić, spoke today with Vladimir Božović Secretary of  Ministry of Interior on outstanding issues related to the implementation of the Law on Personal Data Protection in the Ministry of Interior.

Specific topics of discussion were the prior warning data and initiatives of the Commissioner to regulate so-called security checks by the law.  The Secretary of State has informed the Commissioner that the appropriate actions were taken in connection to this in the Ministry of Internal Affairs, and that draft amendments to the Law on Police were prepared and the Ministry will ensure that these amendments will be formally proposed as soon as possible.

In this context Rodoljub Šabić stated the following:

Commissioner for Information of Public Importance and Personal Data Protection Rodoljub Šabić, based on Article 33 of the Law on Free Access to Public Information ("Official Gazette RS" no. 120/04, 54/07, 104/09 and 36/10), has sent a proposal to the National Assembly to select Stanojla Mandić, Bachelor of Law degree from Belgrade, former Deputy Commissioner for Information of Public Importance and Personal Data Protection for the Deputy Commissioner for Information of Public Importance and Personal Data Protection.
