The Commissioner for Information of Public Importance and Personal Data Protection has forwarded the Ministry of Foreign and Domestic Trade and Telecommunications an opinion on the ''Draft Rulebook on Technical Requirements for Equipment and Program Support for Lawful Interception of Electronic Communications and Retention of Data on Electronic Communications'' highlighting wherein the need to correct the text of a significant number of provisions of the Draft. In this regard, the Commissioner, Rodoljub Sabic, has stated the following:

The Commissioner for Information of Public Importance and Personal Data Protection, Rodoljub Sabic, has met today with the Rector, Prof. Dr Vladimir Bumbasirevic, and a group of representatives from the University of Belgrade faculties to discuss the problems associated with the exercise or right to access information in higher education institutions.

Assessing the discussion as very useful, the Commissioner, Rodoljub Sabic, has stated the following in that regard:

The Conference gathers esteemed international and national experts in the field of the protection of whistleblowers – policy experts and practitioners – representatives of public authorities, civil society organisations, media and private entities. Conference panels are focused on different aspects including the role of civil society as well as media and the use of ICT for protecting identity of whistleblowers, as well as best practices and protection of whistleblowers in the national security sectors. The participants will discuss the Model Law on the Protection of Whistleblowers, as well as current challenges pertaining to protection of whistleblowers in other countries and international arena.

Conference is organised within the Project „Protection of Whistleblowers" implemented by the Commissioner for Information of Public Importance and Personal Data Protection and supported by the British Embassy in Belgrade and the Government of the Kingdom of the Netherlands

Европска конференције надлежних државних органа и других тела за заштиту података о личности донела је одлуку да прими Повереника за информације од јавног значаја и заштиту података о личности Републике Србије у пуноправно чланство. Одлука је једногласно  усвојена на седници чланова Европске Конференције која је одржана у Лисабону, 16-17 маја 2013. године, под називом: „Заштита приватности – пред изазовима".

Конференција је, поред тога, усвојила Резолуцију о будућој заштити података о личности у Европи, Резолуцију о обезбеђењу заштите података о личности у прекоатлантској слободној трговачкој зони и Резолуцију о обезбеђењу одговарајућег нивоа заштите података о личности у Европолу.

У раду Конференције учествовао је заменик Повереника Александар Ресановић.
