In a letter submitted to the National Assembly, the Government and a number of Ministries, the Commissioner for Information of Public Importance and Personal Data Protection provided the latest version of a document prepared by the Bureau of the Consultative Committee of the CoE Convention 108 for the Protection of Individuals with regard to Automatic Processing of Personal Data and invited these authorities to give their contribution to the improvement of planned amendments to and modernization of this truly fundamental international document in the field of personal data protection.

The Commissioner for Information of Public Importance and Personal Data Protection completed the planned preventative supervision of the implementation and execution of the Law on Personal Data Protection at the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Serbia. Successive submission of records containing results of performed supervision to all organizational units of the Ministry of Internal Affairs included in the supervision has been completed today.

Representatives of the Commissioner for Information of Public Importance and Personal Data Protection took part in the 14th conference of state bodies responsible for personal data protection in Central and East Europe, held in Kiev (Ukraine), on May 21-22, 2012.

Commissioner for Information of Public Importance and Personal Data Protection, in cooperation with the Information Commissioner of Slovenia, launched the project "Improvement of Personal Data Protection in Serbia" in April 2012, a Twinning Light project funded by the EU through the Instrument for Pre-Accession Assistance (IPA).
