The Commissioner for Information of Public Importance and Personal Data Protection Rodoljub Sabic has submitted The Initiative for Amending the Law on Public Administration to the Ministry of Human and Minority Rights, Public Administration and Local Self-Government. The Commissioner has initiated that this law should be complemented with the provisions according to which the electronic presentations of the authorities become an obligation, as well as to set accordingly the implementation of these provisions to local self-government authorities, agencies and public enterprises, and to regulate by the law the sanctions for infringement of this obligation.

Estimating that the request for obligatory internet presentations of the authorities is completely in accordance with their obligation to inform the public about their work, the Commissioner has also said:

The Commissioner for Information of Public Importance and Personal Data Protection believes that the statement by the Minister of Economy and Regional Development with which he tried to explain the censored version of the documents delivered to the Anti-Corruption Council cannot be justified with the legislation granting the right to free access to information and the provisions related to the possibility of limiting the aforementioned right.

Besides reminding that the "arguments" that do not have any constitutional or legal basis fail to contribute to the resolution of existing dilemmas, but, rather, ignore them, the Commissioner Rodoljub Sabic also stated the following:

With regards to the adoption of the Ordinance on the content, deadline, and the manner of acquisition of data necessary for the establishment of the Central Registry of Mandatory Social Insurance and the announced publication of the Debtors' Registry online, the Commissioner for Information of Public Importance and Personal Data Protection sent a letter to the Prime Minister of the Government of the Republic of Serbia pointing out the necessity to change the attitude of the Government as a whole towards the fulfillment of obligations and activities in the field of personal data protection.

In his letter, the Commissioner warns that, on one hand, measures that can seriously infringe upon human rights are undertaken very easily and swiftly without paying attention to the existence of any legal basis or the existence of principles of proportionality and necessity, while, on the other, it is baffling that the Government is running late with the to adoption of legislation and the implementation of measures that are absolutely essential.

In this regard, the Commissioner Rodoljub Sabic also stated the following:

The Commissioner for Information of Public Importance and Personal Data Protection estimates that the decision of the State Public Prosecutor to drop charges against the journalist of the ‘Nacionalni gradjanski’ daily newspaper is a professional and responsible act. Emphasizing that such a decision of the Prosecution is in accordance with the democratic standards of free press and right of the public to know and be informed, but also with demands of fairness and justice, the Commissioner Rodoljub Sabic has also stated:
