The Commissioner for Information of Public Importance and Personal Data Protection has estimated the manner of the preparation of the budget revision by the Ministry of Finance as totally inappropriate.

Stressing that this is doubly counterproductive since, on one side, not only does it practically constitute a caricature of the legally guaranteed independent position of the Commissioner and some other monitoring and regulatory state authorities, but, on the other side, it also constitutes a missed opportunity to achieve more quality results in fixing of the budget deficit, the Commissioner, Rodoljub Sabic, has stated the following:

The Commissioner for Information of Public Importance and Personal Data Protection estimates that public utility companies have to take more account of the lawful treatment of the personal data of the citizens, who are the users of their services. Recalling that personal data may be processed and used only for the purposes stipulated by the law, or when the data owner has given his or her explicit consent, the Commissioner has warned that the any other treatment of personal data shall be considered illegal and punishable.  In this regard the Commissioner, Rodoljub Sabic, has stated the following:

The Commissioner for Information of Public Importance and Personal Data Protection forwarded today his opinion on the Draft Rulebook on technical requirements for equipment and software for legal interception of electronic communications and keeping data on electronic communications to the Ministry of Culture, Media and Information Society.

Stating that some solutions from this bylaw are extremely important from the point of view of possible violations of basic human rights, the Commissioner proposed to the Ministry to extend public consultation period on this bylaw, to hold a genuine public discussion, instead of consultations, inviting competent representatives of the academia, media, civil society and electronic operators to participate.

In this regard, the Commissioner Rodoljub Sabic said following:

In response to the appeal of the Institute of Blood Transfusion of Serbia, the Commissioner for Information of Public Interest and Personal Data Protection and a large group of his associates have joined the campaign of voluntary blood donation. Stating that the state of blood reserves is worrying information of great public importance, the Commissioner, Rodoljub Sabic, called on all citizens who can respond to the appeal of the Institute to do so. In this regard, the Commissioner has stated the following:
