Yesterday, Commissioner Milan Marinović participated in the expert meeting "Establishment of video surveillance in local self-governments and personal data protection", where he spoke about the legal framework and obligations of local self-government during the establishment and use of video surveillance. On that occasion, the Commissioner once again pointed out the importance of regulating this area systematically.
Today, Commissioner Milan Marinović met with representatives of the OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (ODIHR), Media Analysts Marek Mracka and Dumitru Lazur, with whom he discussed the adopted amendments to the Law on Free Access to Information of Public Importance, the Commissioner's cooperation with the media, along with the upcoming election process in Serbia from the aspect of personal data protection.
The Commissioner for Information of Public Importance and Personal Data Protection, Milan Marinovic, attended the ceremonial academy in the Assembly of the City of Belgrade organized by the Students' Union of Belgrade, on the occasion of marking the 85th anniversary of the "Student" newspaper.
On that occasion, the Commissioner was presented with a statuette of thanks for long-term cooperation and selfless contribution to student activism.
Commissioner Milan Marinović and Assistant Secretary General of the Commissioner’s Office Lela Rudić received Ms. Elena Kovalyova, Legal Analyst for the financing of the ODIHR Election Observation Mission's campaign.
The Commissioner informed Ms. Kovalyova about the situation in the field of personal data protection during the election campaign, with special reference to the processing of personal data through social networks, as well as the manner of functioning of the Commissioner's Office.
