On July 5, 2024, representatives of the Commissioner's Office - Sector for Education and Certification, Aleksandar Kocić and Aleksandra Lakićević, held a training in the field of application of the Law on Personal Data Protection for employees of the company NTC program Novi Sad.
The training focused on resolving numerous doubts in applying the Law on Personal Data Protection that employees face in their daily work.
At the request of the University of Belgrade, representatives of the Commissioner's Office from the Sector for Education and Certification, Marko Milošević, Marin Cetinić, and Nemanja Damjanović, held two thematic training sessions on the application of the Law on Personal Data Protection. The trainings, held on July 3 and 4, 2024, were attended by 60 employees of the University's professional services, secretaries of the faculties that are part of the University of Belgrade (BU), and their appointed Data Protection Officers.
The main goal of the training was the better application of the law by higher education institutions members of BU with moving the emphasis and the following discussion from the legal basis of collecting medical documentation of students on dormant status, regulating the relationship between the Data Controller and the Processor when using different communication platforms in educational processes (Microsoft, Google), to the relationship of joint Data Controllers that arise when concluding agreements within the framework of international cooperation between BU, certain BU faculties and foreign universities.
The discussion, in which representatives of the Commissioner's Office, the University itself, and BU members participated resolved numerous doubts that BU representatives face in performing their daily work regarding the proper application of the Law on Personal Data Protection.
On July 4, 2024, Commissioner Milan Marinović and his associates held an initial meeting with representatives of the EU Project for Public Finance Management Reform Programme, Mrs. Marijana Trifunović-Stefanović, Project leader, Dr. Birger Nere, an expert on tax issues at the United Nations Development Program (UNDP ), and Mrs. Teodora Krkotić, an expert associate at the Project.
Relevant components of the Project were presented at the meeting and the possibilities were discussed of the Commissioner's Office's contribution to its implementation under the legal framework for personal data protection in Serbia and the European Union.
