The Commissioner for Information of Public Importance and Personal Data Protection has conducted a training seminar for the staff of the City Centre for Social Work in Belgrade (with its departments) and the Secretariat for Social Security of the City of Belgrade to ensure improved application of the Law on Personal Data Protection and the Law on Free Access to Information of Public Importance.
Commissioner for Information of Public Importance and Personal Data Protection Rodoljub Sabic and Director of the Business Registers Agency Zvonko Obradovic agreed today to sign a special Agreement on Retrieval of Status Register Data through Business Registers Agency's Web Services, which, together with upgraded software implemented by the Commissioner, would significantly improve the functioning of the Central Register and allow new users/data controllers to retrieve in real time a predefined, accurate and updated data set directly from the Agency's information system at the time of their registration with that Register, subject to the full scope of security and safety measures which should apply to such data transfer.
The Commissioner will inform the public in the near future about the commissioning date of the new service and the signing of the said Agreement.
Following increased public interest and frequent requests from journalists and the media in connection with the "Report on Regulation, Organisation and Functioning of the Security System put in Place to protect the Prime Minister of the Republic of Serbia", which was produced by a special Committee chaired by Deputy Prime Minister Zarko Korac after the assassination of Prime Minister Zoran Djindjic, the Commissioner for Information of Public Importance and Personal Data Protection recalls it is now eight whole years since he addressed a letter to the Serbian Government in which he called for a review of the Government's "decision" to keep the information presented in the Report inaccessible to the public.
The Commissioner for Information of Public Importance and Personal Data Protection has filed with the Supreme Court of Cassation an Initiative to ensure Uniform Application of Law by Courts and Equality of Parties in Infringement Proceedings conducted in accordance with the Law on Misdemeanours (LM) due to violations of the Law on Free Access to Information of Public Importance (LFAIPI).
