Extraordinary Inspection Supervision in Ministry of Education and Ministry of Interior
Due to the interest and concern of citizens regarding letters sent to schools requesting the compilation of lists of "problematic" and "antisocial" children, the Commissioner for Information of Public Importance and Personal Data Protection informs the public that, without delay and under his powers established by the Law on Personal Data Protection, the proceeding of extraordinary inspection supervision was carried out in the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Interior and that in the aforementioned inspections the following was determined:
- that the School Administrations of the City of Užice and the City of Zrenjanin received a letter from the Police Administrations but did not make such lists, nor did they submit them to the Ministry of Interior, because that would be contrary to the procedures prescribed by law;
- that the Ministry of Education sent a directive to schools not to submit any data to the MUP according to the letter in question;
- that the Ministry of Interior did not issue a directive for the actions of Police Administrations in the aforementioned sense, but that local Police Administrations sent the letters in question on their own initiative.
